About the Image Color Palette Extractor

Colours are found by quantising the image to a coarse grid and counting which buckets are fullest, then averaging the real pixels in each bucket. That gives colours that actually appear in the image rather than mathematical midpoints.

Each colour is reported with its share of the image, in HEX, RGB and HSL, plus a block of CSS custom properties you can paste straight into a stylesheet.

Near-transparent pixels are ignored, so a logo on a transparent background gives the logo’s colours rather than a large block of nothing.

Is your image uploaded to a server?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser using standard web APIs, so your image never leaves your device. You can confirm it by opening your browser's network panel while the tool runs, or by disconnecting from the internet after the page has loaded.

Is it free, and do I need an account?

Yes, it is free, and there is no account, no sign-up and no watermark on the result. The project is funded by optional donations.
