About the JSON to .env Converter

JSON is the default interchange format of the web: every language parses it, it has exactly six types, and there is only one way to write a given document.

A .env file is the standard way to keep configuration out of source control. It is a flat list of KEY=value lines that every framework and container runtime can load.

The document is parsed into a common structure and written back out as .env, so the result is always syntactically correct even when the input was formatted unusually. Everything is a string, there is no nesting, and quoting rules vary between loaders - which is why values with spaces or hashes are the usual source of surprises.

Questions people ask

Is your document uploaded to a server?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser using standard web APIs, so your document never leaves your device. You can confirm it by opening your browser's network panel while the tool runs, or by disconnecting from the internet after the page has loaded.

Is it free, and do I need an account?

Yes, it is free, and there is no account, no sign-up and no watermark on the result. The project is funded by optional donations.
