About the JSON to TOML Converter
JSON is the default interchange format of the web: every language parses it, it has exactly six types, and there is only one way to write a given document.
TOML is designed to be obvious to read and unambiguous to parse: typed values, real dates, and comments. It is what Rust, Python packaging and many Go tools use for configuration.
The document is parsed into a common structure and written back out as TOML, so the result is always syntactically correct even when the input was formatted unusually. Deeply nested structures get awkward, and the top level must be a table - an array or a bare value cannot be a TOML document.
Questions people ask
Is your document uploaded to a server?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser using standard web APIs, so your document never leaves your device. You can confirm it by opening your browser's network panel while the tool runs, or by disconnecting from the internet after the page has loaded.
Is it free, and do I need an account?
Yes, it is free, and there is no account, no sign-up and no watermark on the result. The project is funded by optional donations.
