About the Java properties to JSON Converter
A .properties file is the Java ecosystem’s flat configuration format: dotted keys, one per line, loaded by Spring, Maven and the JDK itself.
JSON is the default interchange format of the web: every language parses it, it has exactly six types, and there is only one way to write a given document.
The document is parsed into a common structure and written back out as JSON, so the result is always syntactically correct even when the input was formatted unusually. It has no comments, no date type and no trailing commas, and numbers are IEEE-754 doubles - so an integer above 2^53 loses precision.
Questions people ask
Is your document uploaded to a server?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser using standard web APIs, so your document never leaves your device. You can confirm it by opening your browser's network panel while the tool runs, or by disconnecting from the internet after the page has loaded.
Is it free, and do I need an account?
Yes, it is free, and there is no account, no sign-up and no watermark on the result. The project is funded by optional donations.
