About the JPG to PNG Converter

PNG stores pixels losslessly, so converting stops any further quality loss from repeated saving. What it cannot do is restore detail the JPEG already discarded - that information is gone.

Expect the PNG to be larger, often several times larger for a photograph. PNG wins on screenshots, diagrams and anything with flat colour or text; JPEG wins on photographs.
