About the Merge PDF
Pages are copied from each document into a new one, so the page content, fonts and images come across exactly as they were - nothing is re-rendered and no quality is lost.
What does not come across is the structure around the pages: bookmarks, form fields, annotations and attachments belong to the document rather than to the pages, and the library that does this copies pages. If those matter, merge in a full PDF application.
The table in the result shows which pages of the output came from which input file, which is the thing you usually need to check afterwards.
Questions people ask
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The document is read and rewritten by JavaScript in your own browser. Nothing is transmitted, which is the only sensible arrangement for contracts, invoices, medical records and anything else people put in a PDF.
What if my PDF is password protected?
Encrypted documents cannot be edited in the browser, and the tool says so clearly rather than failing with a confusing error. Remove the password in the application that created the file, then try again.
How many files can I merge at once?
Up to 40 documents, each up to 100 MB. The limit exists because every page is held in memory while the new document is built.
Is your document uploaded to a server?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser using standard web APIs, so your document never leaves your device. You can confirm it by opening your browser's network panel while the tool runs, or by disconnecting from the internet after the page has loaded.
Is it free, and do I need an account?
Yes, it is free, and there is no account, no sign-up and no watermark on the result. The project is funded by optional donations.
