About the Unicode to ASCII Converter
Conversion decomposes accented letters and drops the accent, so "é" becomes "e", and maps typographic punctuation - curly quotes, en and em dashes, ellipses, non-breaking spaces - to their ASCII equivalents.
The report mode is the diagnostic one: it tells you which characters in a file will cause trouble in a system that only accepts ASCII, and roughly which script they come from.

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser using standard web APIs, so your text never leaves your device. You can confirm it by opening your browser's network panel while the tool runs, or by disconnecting from the internet after the page has loaded.
