About the JSON Key Sorter

Key order has no meaning in JSON, which is exactly why it causes trouble: two documents with identical data can produce a diff on every line simply because a serialiser emitted the keys in a different order.

Sorting both sides first turns that into an empty diff, and makes a checksum of the document meaningful.

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser using standard web APIs, so your document never leaves your device. You can confirm it by opening your browser's network panel while the tool runs, or by disconnecting from the internet after the page has loaded.

Is it free, and do I need an account?
