About the BMP to PNG Converter

BMP stores pixels uncompressed, so the files are enormous - a 1920x1080 image is about 6 MB regardless of content. PNG stores the same pixels losslessly and is usually a tenth of the size.

Conversion happens entirely in your browser through the canvas API, so the image never leaves your device and the result appears as fast as your machine can decode and re-encode it.
