About the CSV to Excel Converter

Values that look numeric become real numbers so Excel can total them - except values with a leading zero, which stay as text. That single rule is what stops postcodes, account numbers and product codes losing their first digit.

The header row is made bold and frozen, and column widths are set from the content, so the workbook is usable the moment it opens rather than needing a minute of formatting.

Opening a CSV directly in Excel is the alternative, and it is where most spreadsheet data corruption comes from: Excel silently reinterprets anything that resembles a date or a number.

Questions people ask

Why not just open the CSV in Excel?

Because Excel guesses. It turns 1-2 into a date, strips leading zeros from identifiers, and converts long numbers to scientific notation - all without asking. Building the workbook explicitly avoids that.

Is it free, and do I need an account?

Yes, it is free, and there is no account, no sign-up and no watermark on the result. The project is funded by optional donations.
