About the SVG Live Preview

The checkerboard behind the image shows exactly where the SVG is transparent, which a white background hides.

External references are not loaded, so an SVG that depends on an outside font or image renders without them. That is deliberate: an SVG is a document that can fetch things, and this one is not allowed to.
