About the Device Pixel Ratio Viewer
The device pixel ratio is how many physical pixels the display uses for one CSS pixel. A value of 2 means an image shown at 300 CSS pixels wide needs 600 real pixels to look sharp.
Serving that larger image to everyone wastes bandwidth on ordinary displays, which is the problem the srcset attribute exists to solve.
Ratios are not always whole numbers - Windows scaling at 125% produces 1.25, and some Android devices report 2.75.
