About the Checksum Validator
Comparison is case-insensitive and ignores surrounding whitespace, so a value copied out of a release page with a trailing newline still matches.
A matching checksum proves the content is identical to what was hashed. It does not prove the content is safe: if an attacker can change the file, they can usually change the published checksum too. Signatures, not checksums, solve that.

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser using standard web APIs, so your code never leaves your device. You can confirm it by opening your browser's network panel while the tool runs, or by disconnecting from the internet after the page has loaded.
