About the Character Counter Without Spaces
Several industries bill or grade by characters excluding whitespace: translation quotes, typesetting estimates and some university word limits all use it, because it cannot be inflated by padding with spaces.
Every Unicode whitespace character is excluded, not just the plain space: tabs, line breaks, non-breaking spaces and the narrower typographic spaces are all removed before counting.
