About the Operating System Detector
The answer comes from the user agent string, which browsers increasingly freeze or reduce deliberately. Safari reports a fixed version, and Chrome now sends a reduced string by default.
That is why feature detection - checking whether an API exists - is the right way to decide what your site does, and user agent sniffing is not.
