About the Angle Converter

Radians are the natural unit for mathematics: the derivative of sine is cosine only when the angle is in radians. Degrees survive because 360 divides neatly by so many numbers.

A full turn is 360 degrees, 2 pi radians or 400 gradians. Arcminutes and arcseconds subdivide a degree by 60 and 3,600, and are used in astronomy and surveying.

Every unit converts through a single base unit, so the arithmetic is one multiplication and one division - both shown in the working, along with the exact factor used.
