About the Energy Converter
The calorie on a food label is a kilocalorie - 1,000 of the physics calorie, and 4,184 joules. That is why the same label often shows both "250 kcal" and "1,046 kJ".
A kilowatt hour is the energy of one kilowatt for one hour, or 3.6 million joules. It is the unit electricity is billed in.
Every unit converts through a single base unit, so the arithmetic is one multiplication and one division - both shown in the working, along with the exact factor used.
