About the DOCX Hyperlink Extractor
Links in a DOCX are stored separately from the text that displays them, which is why the words on the page and the address behind them can differ completely.
Both are listed side by side, grouped by host, and downloadable as CSV. That makes it straightforward to check a document from an unfamiliar sender before clicking anything in it.
It is also the fastest way to audit a long document for dead or internal links before publishing it.
Questions people ask
Is my document uploaded?
No. A DOCX or ODT file is a ZIP archive of XML, and both are unpacked and read by your own browser. Nothing is transmitted, nothing is stored, and the tool works with the network disconnected once the page has loaded.
Does this work with .doc files from older versions of Word?
No. The old .doc format is a binary format with a completely different structure, and it is not readable this way. Save or convert the file as .docx first - Word, LibreOffice and Google Docs all do that.
Is it free, and do I need an account?
Yes, it is free, and there is no account, no sign-up and no watermark on the result. The project is funded by optional donations.
