About the DOCX Font List Viewer

The font table lists every typeface the document references. A reader whose machine lacks one of them sees a substitute, which is the usual reason a document reflows or looks wrong on another computer.

These are requested fonts, not embedded ones. Embedding is a separate, optional feature that most documents do not use because of font licensing.

Questions people ask

Is my document uploaded?

No. A DOCX or ODT file is a ZIP archive of XML, and both are unpacked and read by your own browser. Nothing is transmitted, nothing is stored, and the tool works with the network disconnected once the page has loaded.

Does this work with .doc files from older versions of Word?

No. The old .doc format is a binary format with a completely different structure, and it is not readable this way. Save or convert the file as .docx first - Word, LibreOffice and Google Docs all do that.

Is it free, and do I need an account?

Yes, it is free, and there is no account, no sign-up and no watermark on the result. The project is funded by optional donations.
