About the DOCX Style List Viewer
Every style defined in the file is listed with its internal identifier and its type. The identifier is what the XML references; the name is what Word shows you.
A document carrying hundreds of styles has usually been assembled by pasting from many sources, each bringing its own. That is the usual reason formatting will not stay consistent no matter how often it is corrected.
Questions people ask
Is my document uploaded?
No. A DOCX or ODT file is a ZIP archive of XML, and both are unpacked and read by your own browser. Nothing is transmitted, nothing is stored, and the tool works with the network disconnected once the page has loaded.
Does this work with .doc files from older versions of Word?
No. The old .doc format is a binary format with a completely different structure, and it is not readable this way. Save or convert the file as .docx first - Word, LibreOffice and Google Docs all do that.
Is it free, and do I need an account?
Yes, it is free, and there is no account, no sign-up and no watermark on the result. The project is funded by optional donations.
