About the DOCX Page Size Viewer
Reports the page dimensions in millimetres and inches, names the standard paper size where it matches one, and lists all four margins along with the resulting text width.
The commonest printing surprise is a document set up for US Letter being printed on A4 or the other way round: the sizes are close enough that it is not obvious on screen and quite obvious on paper.
Word stores these as twips - twentieths of a point, 1440 to the inch - which is why converted figures are rarely round.
Questions people ask
Is my document uploaded?
No. A DOCX or ODT file is a ZIP archive of XML, and both are unpacked and read by your own browser. Nothing is transmitted, nothing is stored, and the tool works with the network disconnected once the page has loaded.
Does this work with .doc files from older versions of Word?
No. The old .doc format is a binary format with a completely different structure, and it is not readable this way. Save or convert the file as .docx first - Word, LibreOffice and Google Docs all do that.
Is it free, and do I need an account?
Yes, it is free, and there is no account, no sign-up and no watermark on the result. The project is funded by optional donations.
